Course Reflections:
  • Which of our three goals do you feel you improved upon the most? Better reader, better writer, or better speaker and listener?
    • This semester I've definitely improved as a writer. The little skills we've learned as far as using transitions to link everything together and maintain a controlling theme, writing generic introductions, and using active voice, along with other techniques we've learned, have greatly improved the style of my writing.
  • How has this course helped me to become a more caring, competent, contributing citizen in the ever-changing global community?
    • This class has helped me to become a more caring, competent, and contributing citizen in the ever-changing global community by teaching me some valuable lessons through the different novels we read. The most important of which is to give what you can to people, because that will make you truly happy, which I was reminded of by Tuesdays with Morrie.
  • What will you take away from this class? What will you remember?
    • I think I will take away skills to be a better writer as well as a lot of lessons I learned through different books such as tolerance from Inherit the Wind, a more positive outlook of life from Tuesdays with Morrie, and the idea that even your best thought out plans can be ruined by something you can't control from Of Mice and Men.
Self Evaluation:
  • Did you achieve your personal goals for this course?
    • My main goal this semester was to keep an advanced grade in the course, which I did, and also to complete all my work with 100 percent effort, which I also managed to do most of the time.
  • Did you give your personal best?
    • Throughout the course I always did my work to the best of my ability, so yes, I do believe that I gave my personal best.
  • What could you do to improve your performance?
    • As I look back on this semester the one thing that I could have improved on would be participating in class more often by offering my opinion during discussions and volunteer for different activities, but other than that, I think I had great performance in this English course.
